Biosketch

Dr. Bo Yu practices general dentistry including cosmetic and implant dentistry in the Greater Los Angeles area, after an 8-year tenure as Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry in the Section of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Yu received his DDS with honors in 2011, and PhD in Oral Biology in 2014 both from the UCLA School of Dentistry. After joining as a full-time faculty in 2016, he served as the Director of Preclinical Education, and Director of Collaborative Research and Innovations for Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Yu has published over 30 journal articles and book chapters, and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He was voted by the students at UCLA as the most impactful Restorative faculty in 2020, 2023 and 2024. Dr. Yu has also been serving as an examiner for the CDCA-WREB-CITA, the agency to administer the national dental licensure examination. He is grateful that an academic career allowed him to discover his passion in digital dentistry, education and leadership training. He is passionate about delivering patient-centered, comprehensive care for his patients, with the latest digital technologies and in a comfortable atmosphere.
